A selection of some of my favorite projects over the past five years I have engraved are pictured below. Many handmade knives produced mostly by Australian part time makers from all around the country.
All works pictured have been hand engraved using my Lindsay Palm Control pneumatic chisel and a turning vise. A microscope is now part of my setup and I find it very helpful in reducing the strain on the eyes and helping maintain an ergonomic posture.
Many of the pieces pictured were commissioned jobs and many are jobs I have done because I wanted to or to challenge myself to try new techniques.

The Woolly Mammoth handled dagger was the first knife I had the pleasure of engraving for him. The second was a good year later by me with my new microscope and were sold as a set.  A very good way of holding a small part or knife while engraving is this heat softening plastic I like to use. |  I had the pleasure of engraving one of Australian maker, Peter Bald's knives with my classic large scroll deep relief style on the nickel silver bolsters |  This Mother of Pearl and Stainless Steel Damascus knife is one of the smoothest and best finished knives I have ever seen, a privilege to work on. |

 My Customer gave me this photo of a wolf and asked if I could engrave it on a pendant in Bulino with anodizing |  This Bulino engraving was hand engraved using a pneumatic chisel and point tool for some parts but 80% just picked out tiny chip by chip by hand with a burin. |  The anodizing on the bulino engraved dogtag is simply titanium's reaction to electricity. You control the thickness of the oxide coating by varying the voltages. I am really enjoying the process and the results I have achieved with it. |

I got her to scribe the designs straight onto the metal and then I engraved and anodized them that day.  Here is a sheath I made early 2016 for the customer who made the knife |  This was a husband and wife commissioned set of Spyderco Delicas which I engraved in 2013/14 |  On this handmade pendant I have engraved a design which would ordinarily be blackened but I found it rather striking as is and left it. The concave dots in the background reflect the light and give it an elegant luster and sparkle. |
