A selection of some of my favorite projects over the past five years I have engraved are pictured below. Many handmade knives produced mostly by Australian part time makers from all around the country.

All works pictured have been hand engraved using my Lindsay Palm Control pneumatic chisel and a turning vise. A microscope is now part of my setup and I find it very helpful in reducing the strain on the eyes and helping maintain an ergonomic posture.

Many of the pieces pictured were commissioned jobs and many are jobs I have done because I wanted to or to challenge myself to try new techniques.

A fixed blade skeleton knife in 440C Stainless steel. Ground to shape and then engraved, hardened, finished and sharpened for use.


















		Bulino entirely hand pushed except for the pupils where i used a rotary tool and a needle point in a pneumatic headpiece

Stunning Mother of Pearl pillow dagger aptly named 'Beauty'. Symetrical scrollwork hand engraved design on the integral bolsters complement the clean white pearl.	Woolly Mammoth and Mother of Pearl Daggers by Peter Del Raso. The Woolly Mammoth handled dagger was the first knife I had the pleasure of engraving for him. The second was a good year later by me with my new microscope and were sold as a set. Aptly named both because of the handle materials and the immense improvement I made in my work over that period. This Sebenza features rather fine detailed scrolls engraved into the titanium knife scales.	Hand engraved customers requested symbol with scrollwork	Here is the almost finished engraving on the Sebenza. I sent this to the customer and we agreed to give the logo more contrast before I sent it back.
I had the pleasure of engraving one of Australian maker, Peter Bald's knives with my classic large scroll deep relief style on the nickel silver bolsters	Lovely Mother of pearl, Stainless Steel Damascus and engraved Nickel Silver bolster folder I had the pleasure of engraving for the maker's customer early in 2016.	This is the first commission I did for Peter Bald. A beautifully made fixed blade with Nickel Silver bolsters featuring engraving by Danae.
Really enjoyed working on this lovely razor by BSG in edge quenched W2 leaving the spine and handle of the knife annealed.	Very fine detail engraved into this W2 razor left annealed on the handle. Bowie by Paul Arestan with my engraving on the blade before heat treat.	A nice detail shot of the engraving on the Arestan Bowie engraved 2015	Hand engraved brass bolsters finish off this solid Bowie by Mick Ramage. Engraved for the 2014 Sydney knife show.
This progress shot shows the inlay trimmed down to the level of the steel, inlays are then sanded or stoned down to the level of the metal perfectly smoothly	This Spyderco Dragonfly was the first commission I did silver wire inlay in and it features script initials and fine line shaded deep relief scrollwork hand engraved on the scale.	Here I have outlined the silver wire inlay on the Spyderco Dragonfly and lightly scribed in the rope design
I made and engraved this cute, tiny little pendant with deep relief engraving with dotted and blackened background.	Here is a lovely fixed blade with ATS34 deep relief hand engraved blade, 416 stainless bolsters and black lip pearl scales. Made by Danae Cresswell & Adam Parker in late 2014	I made this pendant in 2015 and I was quite impressed with the poppy red satin necklace I paired with it. Engraving is deep relief scrollwork style with a stippled and blackened background and fine line shading
This was a husband and wife commissioned set of Spyderco Delicas which I engraved in 2013/14	Here is a small spyderco knife with a freestyle scroll design with deeply removed and blackened scroll and scrollwork without background removal	Here is one of my earlier commissions that I am still quite pleased with. The silouetted birds stand out clearly from almost any distance
I made this pendant in 2015 and I was quite impressed with the poppy red satin necklace I paired with it. Engraving is deep relief scrollwork style with a stippled and blackened background and fine line shading	Black Lip Pearl with 'skeleton' Scrollwork hand engraved into the pearl	Very close detail shot on a brass bolster without background removal.
Adam Parker helped me grind this bowie blade and taught me how to do the vine leaf filework on the spine. I engraved the guard for a really nice finishing touch that would be very difficult to do on an assembled knife. Long time tattooist and new engraver Mick Butterworth from deep n dark tattoos drew this design for me for this cool Boker knife.	Here is one of the first knives I have put together on my own. This was given away in a knife in the hat in 2015. 440C engraved blade with ringed gidgee wood and the pins got engraved too after this shot.	'Power' bulino engraved dragonfly. Artwork was provided by the customer.
Spyderco Dragonfly engraving with fine line and 'power bulino' engraving and fine line shading on the hand engraved scrollwork in deep relief.	Here I have engraved some fine deep relief scrolls around the pocket clip	This is a lighter I engraved in 2015 with the customers logo into the thin brass.
I was very pleased with the patina the customer applied to his lighter after receiving it back.	Leaf script B engraved to lighter in 2013	This nice simple touch to a fairly plain folding knife made for a nice birthday present for the customer's son.
